Multicultural Lucas Mallada
Guillermo Iturbe, headmaster of Ies Lucas Mallada

These days that xenofobious parties are taking positions in our European elections, those who believe in a united
Europe, and are conviced that difference makes us better, must give example with our ideas and actions.
Aragón has always been the land for diversity, and when the central state tried to stop it with the expulsion of Jewish and muslims expulsion in the 14th and 15th lost its egemony in the Mediterranean.

Our school is an example for diversity. 13 students from different countries are living with us with no more difficulties than those students of their same age and has always had an European vocation. Our students are living the European reality. But we don't want an Europe united just for economic reasons. We want the Europe of the different cultures. We think Europe with its different regions and nationalities must have its voice heard. The better we

know the better we will understand us and the better we understand the better we will tolerate and integrate. For one week we have had the possibility of meeting people from other countries, Slovenia, Poland, Italy and we have learnt we have some things in common and some different. We have admired slovenian beautiful countryside, polish handcraft italian art…. And of course, the most important,  people. We are all part of the same Europe we want to build. Let's hope next generation sees a strong , diverse and rich Europe

What do people from Huesca worry about ?
when people act and make decisions in their personal life they always have in mind some values. It is essential to know our personal identity which are the most important values in our city.
Every society must make sure that its citizens are guided by certain moral values. We can define them as the qualities some human actions must have and that makes people to develop in its humanization process.
Values are not all moral, there are aesthetic, economical, religious etc. Values always follow a scale and there are no absolute values. Some are more important than others . the scale may change according to ages, time, fashions .. and we want to study which are the most important among young people in Huesca. We have polled four different groups of people and the answers were much alike the same for all of them.
